One note make sure you do not over fill gas tank when cold out after gas warms up it will flood the carb and stop running. All in all very happy. Living in Northern California is a problem when it comes to wildfires. The power company (PG&E) shuts off power for 250,000 to 750,000 customers whenever winds threaten their transmission and distribution lines. This inverter is lightweight, runs for more than 15 hours on about 2 gallons of gas and is a bit quieter than a regular generator.

I can run a refrigerator, TV/home theater, and a few lights with power to spare. If it had an hour meter, I'd give it 5 stars.

Great Generator when PGE shuts off power! In Northern Calif, with PGE shutting off power to avoid fires when strong winds blow down power lines, our new Champion Portable Generator saved our food, provided us TV and radio communication, and allowed us to cook with our microwave for days when the power was out. Our neighbors lost food, were out of touch, and struggled to eat cooked food during the outages. I had analyzed our potential power needs (refrig, microwave, TV, WiFi, lights, laptops, cell phones, coffee maker, etc) and concluded I need at lease 3,500 running watts. And we wanted a portable generator that would be somewhat quiet.

The Champion Model 100302 fit the bill perfecdtly. It was easy to add some oil and fill with gas. And after opening the fuel valve, pulling the choke, and turning on the switch, the unit started on the 2nd pull. Great generator, great decision for us! Generator is exactly as advertised. We used it over the weekend and it worked flawlessly. I would recommend this generator to any of my friends, really a great product for the price. This inverter starts with one pull, not overly loud, and ran what I wanted, 120v pump hot water, furnace, fridge, freezer, and my tv.

Just have to make sure bigger loads do not all come on at once. I used the champion generator cord (48034). I have many high-amp draw power tools, and I haven't found one yet that won't run. It's very well built, and quieter than your ordinary open-frame generator; not a whisperer mind you, but quieter than open-frame generators usually are.
